Through Time and Space

Silently through space, frozen and unable to hold what isn’t the essential plane to itself, it floats

Through Time and Space is a series of images of which some will be on display at the Fairfield Library in Brisbane for the month of January. The story began with a request to draw a paper plane in space for Flightmode’s Westward breeze album. The simple paper plane going through a nebula that was their starting point. Images which have been taken by my talented son, John and his equally talented friend, Sam turned it into something more than it began. You will have to buy the CD when it is released to see that finished project.

Along the way for me, the plane in space and the gentleness of the quiet inner wonderings that happened for me began a huge conversation about how time and space are experienced and in the end help us hold our lives in a way that allows ups to stand up as resilient and whole beings. I did say the conversation is huge. But then, if you listen to heart of most interactions between friends and strangers over coffee they are all about the same topic, life in time and space….the conversation is constant. I simply let my pencil and silence guide where I went and reflected upon the people and ideas that crossed my path in the process.

Maybe the Matrix has something to offer, a place to hang ideas, beliefs, wonder….inside our minds.

The images that evolved over time let me consider Freud, Jung, Maslow and the ferocity of the heat of the sun all at the same time. Whispers of truth echoed through and created images of repeated motifs that have in these last years become like their own pictographic dictionary. We are always more whole than we are broken or we would be dead. The will for life is constant, understanding life is confusing. In the end it, LIFE is a gift and we get to live it. Experience that we turn into communication that is constant….more than words. To quote one of my sons: “Words are so….limiting.” We communicate constantly with behaviour, responses, images, choices, and occasionally words.

Inside our minds experiences and ideas meet and become linked in extraordinary ways. Hung off a matrix of our core beliefs that we form very early in life, often before we have words to understand what we see and experience within out families of origin. Moments of love and interaction become the meaning from which we suspend ideas that tell the story or our journey to beautiful and no so beautiful moments.

As always the resilience of my inner being appears in image. This for me is part of my timeless journey. I guess it is something that is of the lines of the matrix for me. The image of this strong being among the stars, standing holding her own light. We all of us bring our own impact not he world. We all change the world everyday. Sometimes perhaps that impact will never be seen by us, but it is real and it is! Our choice and power in life is the quality of the light we bring. Kindness and caring are eternal values that never go out of fashion. Being aware that our actions have consequences not just for us but for others too is important. Understanding we are more than just solitary beings….so many life ideas…..So I add her…..resilient and sure.

May peace be within you. Happy Day

Sandy
